How I attract my ideal clients

Posted on October 18th, 2020 to Uncategorized

How many times in the last month have you been prospected on LinkedIn by a person or company promising to get you more leads?

I get messages ALL THE TIME — people trying to sell me LinkedIn outreach strategy, YouTube advertising plans, or podcast production services, all in the name of driving more leads for my service-based business.

Have you ever been tempted to try it? Or maybe you did invest in one of these offers with hopes of making it just a little easier to bring in business…

I get the impulse. During my 20 years in sales, I often wished there was an easy-breezy way to attract clients ready to invest in my premium-priced services.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but most of these efforts don’t work for premium service-based businesses — and especially if you don’t have a strong nurture and follow-up plan.

Let me ask you another question: Where do your best clients come from?

If you’re anything like my clients, your answer is “referrals” or “my network.”

So, if your best clients come from your high-touch relationships, why would you invest time and money into developing low-touch contacts?

At this point, you might be thinking, “Okay, Allison, I get it — but what do I do instead?”

There are several ways to get a constant flow of leads coming into your sales funnel that don’t include investing in services or software, and one of them is…

Intentional networking.

If you just gave me a BIG EYE ROLL, I get it.

I’m not talking about awkward, fruitless “connection calls” that go nowhere (or, worse, put more work on your plate and no money in your pocket).

I’m talking about strategic, generous, bountiful connecting that serves others and your business at the same time.

Not sure you believe it’s possible? Think intentionally networking with ease and seeing profits is as likely as pigs flying or unicorns showing up on your doorstep?

Let me prove it to you.

I regularly speak to the power of networks on my monthly Sales Roundtable — a virtual strategy session for founders who want to hit their revenue goals and keep on growing. You’re invited to join the next event — and bring all your networking questions with you! Register here.
